Director General for Information and Statistical Systems at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, Mario Nobile has a degree in Civil Engineering and a research doctorate in Transport Engineering.
During his career in the public administration he has held various managerial roles in the field of land use and IT system planning, including broadband coverage.
In 2010 he joined the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, where he was initially responsible for urban regeneration and housing programmes, then moved to management and maintenance of real estate assets, support technologies (including IT) and logistics rationalisation.
In parallel with his work in the public administration, he has also held academic appointments.
From 2001 to 2011 he was adjunct professor at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Bologna and he has written numerous publications.
He has held his current position since 2015, which involves coordinating the launch of the Ministry’s new web portal and the website Opencantieri, an international best practice promoting data transparency in public works of national interest.
