Gianluigi Coghi was born in 1956 and since 1980 has served as Chairman of Coghi Spa of Roverbella (Mantua), a company founded in 1966 which operates in the field of public works and civil, industrial and healthcare building and specialises in the field of restoration and protection of the historical and artistic heritage.
In parallel with his business activity, Gianluigi Coghi has been strongly involved with business associations.
Within the Italian employers’ federation Confindustria, during the 1990s he was regional chairman of Lombardy Young Entrepreneurs, a Board member and a member of the National Committee for Small-Scale Industry.
He was chairman of the Mantua chapter of the National Building Contractors’ Association ANCE for the four-year periods 1998-2001 and 2006-2009 and a director of Cassa Operai Edili (Construction Workers Fund) of the province of Mantua.
Formerly Vice Chairman of Confindustria Mantova with responsibilities for land use and the green economy, he is currently the Delegate for the Mantua area. He chairs the Lombardy regional study centre of ANCE and is a member of the ANCE national study centre.
He served as national ANCE Vice Chairman for Internal Relations from March 2012 to March 2013 and has been Vice Chairman for Innovation, Technology and Environment since 2013.
Other major appointments in the fields of information technology and credit include respectively the role of Chairman of ICE IT, a company belonging to the Italian Trade Agency ICE, and a member of the Mantua Committee of the bank Cassa di Risparmio di Verona, Vicenza, Belluno e Ancona.
Since May 2000 he has been Chairman of Mantova Interporto Spa, a company whose shareholders include businesses in the building and transport sectors, several banks and Consorzio Zai of Verona which was set up with the mission of collaborating with the institutions and local authorities to improve the industrial and logistics hub centred around the Mantova Valdaro river port.
