In what way can active and passive energy design be fully integrated into digital processes and vice versa?
The seminar aims to highlight the opportunities and current problems associated with the use of digital systems in constructing HVAC systems. The complexity of designing and installing systems in buildings, combined with the performance criteria (in relation to energy, comfort and safety, etc.) which apply throughout the life cycle of the building/system, not only demands a multi-disciplinary approach but also highly interoperable modelling tools, to facilitate achievement of the objectives throughout the construction process, of which the systems are a fundamental part. Starting with an analysis of the significance of BIM, from process to model, the seminar will highlight its benefits and opportunities but also its complexities and limits, with a number of case studies.
